Qualified soccer referees with prior officiating experience are strongly encouraged to apply for membership in RWISOA.
How to Join RWISOA
RWISOA is a proud chapter of NISOA, the National Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association. To become a college soccer official with RWISOA, you must apply directly through our chapter and meet the eligibility requirements below.
Eligibility Requirements

Reside within 200 miles of Rockland or Westchester County, New York.

Be at least 18 years old at the time of application.

Submit two letters of recommendation within 30 days of application:

One from a NISOA official in good standing with at least five years of collegiate officiating experience.

One from a college soccer coach, NISOA National Referee, Assessor, or Clinician.

Attend a NISOA Entry-Level Course approved by RWISOA.

Pass the NISOA Qualifying Exam with a score of 80% or higher.

Pass the NISOA Physical Fitness Test.

Have at least three years of officiating experience at the high school varsity level or above.

Have officiated at least 25 games as a referee at the high school varsity, amateur, or professional level.

Complete all requirements within six (6) months of initial application.

Submit all required fees and dues with the application.
